Granite Gold is the brainchild of cousins Lenny Sciarrino and Lenny Pellegrino, whose grandfather emigrated to the United States in the 1950s, bringing with him an Italian heritage synonymous with expertise in the stone industry that he passed on to generations.
Pellegrino took that early upbringing to build what is today a pre-eminent Southern Californian stone restoration and maintenance company, Pellegrino Marble Company, and Sciarrino took his rearing to run the operations of his family business, European Natural Stone, known domestically and internationally as an authority in stone fabrication and installation.
Through their history in the stone industry, they found customers yearning for a product to care for their granite and other natural stone surfaces. Ever the entrepreneur, Pellegrino spent years developing a solution ''' testing and retesting a variety of formulas to come up with one product that would work on the numerous types of natural stone surfaces.
With the first Granite Gold in hand in 2003, Pellegrino partnered with his cousin to market Granite Gold. The two started by providing the product to their own customers, and then grew to local retailers and Internet sales. Word of mouth caught on, coupled with the rising nationwide popularity of granite and natural stone surfaces in new and remodeled homes, and soon the Granite Gold cleaning and maintenance system was gradually making its way to store shelves across the country.
The experts in stone care quickly brought on another expert into the family business, Scott Martin, to help bring Granite Gold to the mass market. With 16 years''' sales experience behind him at WD-40 Company, Martin built a strategy with the cousins that today has Granite Gold in all 50 states. In the short time since the birth of Granite Gold, consumers, retailers, homebuilders, fabricators and installers see Granite Gold as a valuable resource.
